So here's the thing....I know this story from the beginning. I know it well. I almost want people to start with Zurik's final commentary from part 2, "The school board new there was something wrong but they were powerless to do anything about it."

Just keep that in mind when you watch Mrs. Moran's comments. Understand that she is as pissed off as you are and that a lot of what is being told to her by Zurik is actually like a light bulb going off in her head. That's not because she is incompetent or because she wasn't trying her best as a school board member, it's because the system was set up to be gamed and she hasn't had the resources to get a handle on it.

The school board members are basically volunteering their time to oversee a multi-million dollar budget....and it's set up to be gamed. Lourdes and other honest members of the board are trying their best to retain control and get a handle on all these contracts but the entire system is set up to work against them....there's just too much money at stake.

To make things worse, there are traitors among their ranks. There have traditionally been members of the school board who are all too willing to play the game, i.e. Brooks-Simms, Glapion, etc.

I just want to point this out because it's a goddamn impossible situation. I sat through numerous school board meetings and watched this greek tragedy unfold.

I was there when Mrs. Moran first took her seat on the board and watched the confusion set in when multi-million dollar insurance contracts, janitorial contracts, security contracts, etc. were being pushed through by members of the board without scrutiny or accountability.

When she first came to the board, Lourdes's first instinct was to call for an audit...that was the right thing to do. When then superintendent, Anthony Amato, tried to execute that audit by an independent accounting company, Deloitte and Touche, three state legislators immediately called for his head and he was forced to resign the next day. Those legislators were Ann Duplessis, Karen Carter Peterson and Cedric Richmond....just for the record.

Amato resigned and Alvarez and Marcel were brought in to save the day under the guise of a "turnaround firm". They made much hay about how the New Orleans Public School system made their worst case experience (St. Louis) look like a fortune 500 company.

Here we are 5 years later and I'll be damned if A&M didn't game the system just like all the other greedy bastards did before them. Bill Roberti...you're a piece of shit. Fuck You You Fucking Fuck!

Roberti rolled into the school board meetings portraying himself as the Eliot Ness of New Olreans Public Schools. Five years later, we find out he gamed the system in ways Ellenese Brooks-Simms would never dream of....the difference is, Ellenese is in jail and Roberti and A&M are 50 million dollars richer.

The children of our city are still suffering.

He's flying around on his private jet while siphoning money out of our city's schools. Carpetbagging fuckstick.
