Nagin announced the city's plans to extend coverage of their Tropos MetroMesh network to encompass all of the city. The network will be used by multiple city agencies, including public safety personnel, homeland security workers, building inspectors, and other city workers. The mesh network, with gear donated by Tropos, Intel and Pronto Networks, was the first broadband network available after Katrina hit the Big Easy, and has been used extensively since by FEMA workers, public safety officers and private company insurance adjusters. Additionally, the Mayor has made the network immediately available to residents, free of charge, to supplement DSL and cable connectivity not yet restored since the Katrina disaster. Be sure to check out the interview with Chris Drake, Project Office Manager for the Mayor's Office of Technology, from the Discovery Channel Canada.

Hopefully someone can find those interviews with the Discovery Channel Canada

http://www.cityofno.com/portal.aspx?portal=1&load=~/PortalModules/ViewPressRelease.ascx&itemid=3299

http://searchnetworking.techtarget.com/news/article/0,289142,sid7_gci1023354,00.html# Great article from Nov. 5, 2004.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30412896.post-29408033658198887462008-10-10T15:52:00.000-05:002008-10-10T15:52:00.000-05:00See who is on the Management team for Logistix bel...See who is on the Management team for Logistix below.

Logistix specializes in metro-scale wireless boradband, municipal online services and disaster recovery, provides vision, strategy, marketing and execution advice and management to corporate executives and municipal leaders.
