Greg at Suspect Device takes on a lefty blogger who has taken a suprisingly conservative, fiscal stance and advocated the evacuation of New Orleans as opposed to "wasting money" on a wetlands restoration program.
Hmmmm....I'm more interested in taking his leftist identity claims to task than I am the actual debate at hand.
Nonetheless, both posts provide great reading on the subject....make sure you read all the comments as thats where the conversation gets really good.
I particularly like Maitri's comment, "Have you pointed this out to San Francisco and New York City and told them to move? No. You point us out. I’ll tell you what - the French Quarter will still be dry while water is rising up the Empire State Building and the Golden Gate Bridge."

Did you see the positive news about the one and quite possibly two gasification plants that will be coming to SWLA (the second is in negotiations at the moment)?!! Yet another positive move for Governor Blanco when it comes to the entire state of Louisiana and I'll see no one else take the credit but her!!!!
sharon,
thankx for that news. it's important to me...I'm currently diverted on another path, but I believe it's critically important for us to communicate with each other on the opposite ends of the bayou. I just checked out you blog today and I apologize for not linking to it sooner. I will remedy that in a subsequent post.
once again, thanks for the updates.

The news articles can be clicked on and enlarged so that they can be read....

Louisiana has enough power, access and culture so that everyone in this state can succeed....It will take standing together and not acting such as Mayor Nagin does....Mayor Nagin is more concerned with his "fragile ego" than he is concerned with the hope, restoration and healing of New Orleans....
