General Puppetus exposed

You gotta read this article.

Fallon told Petraeus that he considered him to be "an ass-kissing little chickenshit" and added, "I hate people like that", the sources say. That remark reportedly came after Petraeus began the meeting by making remarks that Fallon interpreted as trying to ingratiate himself with a superior.

Damn...i thought calling him Puppetus was being harsh. Or how about the ReBubbacans getting upset at MoveOn.org for calling him "General Betrayus". Who knew we should have been calling him an ass-kissing little chickenshit.

You should read this whole article because it gives us a window into Fallon's (the CENTCOM commander for the Middle East and Southwest Asia) perspective and priorities as opposed to those of Bush. Note this:

The CENTCOM commander believed the United States should be withdrawing troops from Iraq urgently, largely because he saw greater dangers elsewhere in the region. "He is very focused on Pakistan," said a source familiar with Fallon's thinking, "and trying to maintain a difficult status quo with Iran."

By the time Fallon took command of CENTCOM in March, Pakistan had become the main safe haven for Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda to plan and carry out its worldwide operations, as well as being an extremely unstable state with both nuclear weapons and the world's largest population of Islamic extremists.

In an earlier post I said I didn't think Pakistan was an immediate threat to the U.S., I guess I was wrong. Fallon obviously thinks they are a greater threat than Iran...not the country itself, but the radical factions within the country:

He demonstrated his independence from the White House when he refused in February to go along with a proposal to send a third naval carrier task force to the Persian Gulf, as reported by IPS in May. Fallon questioned the military necessity for the move, which would have signaled to Iran a readiness to go to war. Fallon also privately vowed that there would be no war against Iran on his watch, implying that he would quit rather than accept such a policy.

This is one of the most revealing items I've read about the motivations behind the Bush administrations push into Iran. Here we have the CENTCOM commander for the Middle East and Southwest Asia cockblocking the White House's push into Iran and going so far as to say, "There will be no war with Iran on my watch."

It's pretty goddamn obvious that this agenda is being pushed for reasons other than national security or necessity based on intelligence if our # 1 man in the region is standing up to the White House and saying "Fuck No!" All the while, Puppetus has ingratiated himself to BushCo and is playing the stooge in order to push us into an Iranian conflict. FOX will glorify him as "untouchable" and chastize anyone for criticizing such a great war hero and patriot, while Bush and his cronys hide behind Patraeus's veneer.

I'm actually encouraged by this article because at least now we know there is dissent among the highest levels within the military against the adminstration's idiocy. The question is: as Bush escalates will Fallon comply, quit.....or even better....rebel? That could be the beginning of a desperately needed revolution in this country. I know I'm stretching it....but one can hope.
