Obama to Defend Telco Spy Immunity
Obama Sides With Bush in Spy Case
...and why should he when the Telco's pumped his campaign coffers to the rim? Yeah, yeah, yeah...that's politics...whateva.
This decision comes on the heels of former NSA Analyst, Russel Tice coming forward to inform us that the illegal wiretaps were far more extensive than even he originally professed:

The FISA vote still pisses me off because it's a direct slap in the face to the 4th Amendment and I refuse to support him if he isn't going to go balls to the wall to restore the Constitution. Bush and Cheney have wiped their ass with it for the past 8 years and if the damage isn't reversed it will keep this country in peril in perpetuity.
BUT...BUT....in spite of this transgression....he came out swinging:
Obama to Bush: I Can Release Your Records. Don't Like It? Sue.
Wow...he's opening the door for Bush/Cheney to be tried for "high crimes and misdemeanors" as well as war crimes.
Damn! That could lead to any number of possibilites:
- a very lenghty and highly publicized trial of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and all the other fuckwads who allowed the torture to take place in which they will undoubtedly be admonished and some low level sychophant will take the rap.
- Bush, Cheney and the fuckwads join Halliburton in Dubai where there are no extradition laws.
- I don't want to say this, and I'm actually not going to say it directly....Bush, Cheney, and the fuckwads eradicate their problem the Marcello way.
Dammmit...i just went to Oyster's blog and he has already posted this...he is the blogging God. I'm going to create a new Voudon God of Blogging...his name is Oyster.
Alright...i'll just drop it here...go read YRHT.
Wait...actually I'm not going to drop it because I had one more point to make. What SHOULD have happened, is that both Bush and Cheney were impeached and tried while in office...but no one takes true patriots like Dennis Kucinich seriously.
Now, Obama may be opening the door to prosecute these bastards post-presidency. That is huge. That is what is needed to send the message to the rest of the world that the past 8 miserable years do not reflect the morals and standard of the United States. We are not a people who torture. We are not a people who practice our allow human trafficking. We are not a people who invade other countries, unprovoked. We are not a country who deny human beings their basic human rights, i.e. habeas corpus.
We based this country and our constitution on human rights. I think Bono put it best, "America is more than a country...it's an idea."
The reason this country became so great in the eyes of the world, was not our military might....it was because of our belief in basic human dignity. Bush and his assholes ravaged those principles, now we have a long way to go to make up for it. A good start would be to prosecute those fucksticks to let the world know they do not represent the beliefs of our country....we just got hijacked. Will it happen? I doubt it...but Obama seems to be setting the stage.
If he keeps this up....I will dine on crow, to Oludamare's delight.

Thanks for the kind words and link.
The admiration is quite mutual, and I can't wait to see what you are working on bear fruit.
Press on!
I'll tell you the story...send you email.
But in the meantime, How do I depict an Oyster deity typing on a keyboard? That's a really tough one.
...perhaps typing away with his pearls?
Great post. The whole President Obama thing really has felt like taking our country back for all the world to see. Hard not to be moved by the whole thing.
