...and what a long, strange trip its been:
Greg Meffert, wife Linda and vendor who paid for Nagin trips expected to be indicted today
Ironically enough, I'm currently watching both Letten and Nagin per webcast at the WWII Victory Theater dedication. Jim is gonna have to hustle down to Poydras to make that announcment. Nagin may be hustling down to LAI to catch a one way trip back to Havana.
Take note, Nawlins.....the times they are a changin'. The game is up, brah.

Are you surprised that the wife is included?
Do you think that is just for leverage?
*nods and bows* Well done, Dambala.
Meffert's deposition pretty much spelled out the wife as his financial manager. She knows all the numbers.
Jeez. That cat gave the feds the indictment details on a silver platter. I guess the paper doesn't look so slanderous any more, does it, Greg?
Hells Bells I hope your friends are buying you a round today, Zombie.
Buy that man a beer. A good one.
Thank you, AD. That is all.

Blakely must be involved some kind of way...
GREAT reporting Ashe, going back 3 plus years on this!
Jason Berry for Mayor
Wait. I have an important question. I haven't flown anywhere since April. Has the FAA changed the code from MSY to LAI or are you just making up your own shorthand? I read at one point that it was supposed to become ARM but that never happened for whatever reason.

Surely there are more indictments coming. No way is this just Meffert and St. Pierre.
jeffrey, it's still MSY as of, uh, oct 25...
dambala, job well done.
Ok, has anyone ever seen St. Pierre? Ever? Why are there no picutrs of this guy?
Internets is magic:
What does MSY stand for?
MSY stands for Moisant Stock Yards. Before the airport was built, an early aviation pioneer crashed a small plane on the property--John Moisant. John was born in 1868 in Kankakee, IL. His death in a crash on what was then a Harahan Plantation occurred while he was preparing to try for a new world's record for sustained flight. After the crash, the property was turned into stock yards for cattle and named after him--Moisant Stock Yards. Then the airport was built on the same site. Since most residents knew where Moisant Stock Yards were located, the name was used as the first identifier for the airport. The original name of the airport was Moisant Field. The name was changed to New Orleans International Airport, but the identifier stayed the same since it is extremely difficult to change the airports identifier in all of the publications.
Yes, the airport is called MSY to commemorate a fatal plane crash on that very site. I call that brilliant marketing. No wonder Louis Armstrong now gets the nod.
This couldn't happen to a nicer group of people. Especially Linda. She's far from innocent. But she's also quite shallow and stupid. She'd sell out her own sister to further her own interests. If they have anything on Nagin, they would have rolled over by now, but regardless the Mefferts and St. Pierre need to be put in jail. The arrogance! His defense is going to be that the company bribing him had a different name from the company he gave the no-bid contracts to even though they were all basically the same? It's too bad stupidity and arrogance isn't a capital crime.
