Nagin to go to 4-day work week at City Hall, slash other city services
Mayor Ray Nagin said Thursday that most city buildings will be closed on Fridays starting in January and the 311 information and service hotline will be eliminated.
Ok great. So that means we're terminating the contract with Telecommunications Development Corp. right? Because 311 was the service they were supposed to perform right? Good job Ray, you just saved us millions of dollars, I'll guess we'll see that contract termination Monday when you get back to work. And where does that leave MSF?

This only makes sense if everyone in City Hall is coverting to Judaism.
That was funny.
City Hall works four days a week now? Could've fooled some of us.
311 will be eliminated? But who will ignore me when I call now?
Let me get this straight: 311 was paid for three times over (at least), and now it is being eliminated?
Genius.
The answer to the question, "Who pissed in your Cheerios?" is:
"Ray Nagin".
Notice how this new 'longer hours, three day weekend' system is a boon for hard drinking singles, but disasterous for anyone who now has to arrange childcare to accomodate those hours?
Anyone know of a daycare that will let you leave your toddler there until 7 pm?
7 am to 7 pm is a long day for the infants of City employees.
Did he lay off any of his crack communications staff?
Does anyone have a recent count on the number and $ the city spends on "Consultants"?
