Con-Profit status moves to Severe

While Slabbed and others have been sounding the alarm for some time, it seems the MSM is catching up.

I'll direct you to this post on Click-Jefferson:

In addition to state funds, both groups have also received funds from Jefferson Parish.

The Jefferson Sports & Scholastic Foundation is a group that was formed by Councilman Lee and Lee’s campaign treasurer, Lester Dunn, is the group’s director. The group has a Gretna address but is also “not in good standing” with the state’s Secretary of State for failing to file corporate reports with the state. Their last report filed with the Secretary of State was in June 2008.

As ClickJefferson.com reported in 2007, through the years, Councilman Lee has funneled almost $200,000 in funds the parish received from the River Birch landfill settlement to the group. These funds were intended to be directed towards projects in Waggaman where the landfill resides to improve Waggaman’s quality of life.

In his bio on the Jefferson Parish web site, Councilman Lee is listed as a Board Member of the Thompson Thibodeaux Community Development Group.

The group is also “not in good standing” with the state’s Secretary of State for failing to file corporate reports with the state.

In June of 2009, the JP Council approved giving Thompson/ Thibodeaux $300,000 for “exterior painting and minor home repairs to a minimum of forty (40) low and moderate income elderly and handicapped homeowners in Jefferson Parish.” It is unknown if this work was completed.

Heads will roll.  I wonder if Byron took the La Cosa Nostra oath with C-Note and Ike?

Great comment from the TP:

"Dear Times Pic Editors-- How does Lee's relationship with Jeff Sports and Scholastic Foundation merit investigation and Congressman-elect Cedric Richmond's relationship with NOCE not?"

I will also add that Rep. Girod Jackson III has one or more companies that have contracts with the NO SWB as a DBE.

I would love to start posting about corruption in Lincoln Parish, but alas, I am afraid they would kill my wife, the kid, my dogs and probably even drown my 10 year old goldfish, Lester.
