I will no longer refer to him as Muppet. He stood up, took responsibility and kept babies' mama out of the pokey.

How far we've come. In case you forgot how far, here's a flashback:
American Zombie: The Garland/Meffert interview
12 comments:
That Meff Mouth radio interview, as well as your post responding to it, never gets old. Long time coming-- well done, Zombie.
Ecch. I still don't like hearing he got a "good deal", but you're right.
You're taking that "good deal" comment from the NOLA comments....don't be so sure about that. He did what he needed to do to keep Linda out of the clink, but that doesn't mean he's going to skate, that just means Linda is safe.
If he talks...and I mean really talks....it's gonna get really fun.
O, that radio interview is priceless on so many levels.
I never get tired of hearing it either.
"Ordering Microsoft Software *and* Dell computers..."???
I like when Garland gets enraged when the shill from St Tammany suggests he's not being fair to poor lil Meffert.
Garland gets spitting mad "How dare you...!" and at one point calls his guest Merfet. I can remember exactly where I was when that interview took place. I was driving on Magazine, and this was the first time I'd heard Meffert talk, and -- holy shit-- what an amateurish, inarticulate IDIOT! And his incessant use of casual slang about a serious topic.
I guess that's, like, just how Meff and his peeps roll.
yeah an expected sentence of 5-8 years doesnt sound light to me. i sure wouldnt want to spend nearly a decade of my middle-age in prison and dont consider it a slap on the wrists. more time than most govt convictions so far.
Nagin: "I hope he tells it all" http://www.wwltv.com/news/local/Nagin-on-Meffert-106528644.html
Actually, the "good deal" part is from WWL's own tweet about Meffert. Perhaps if he hadn't shot his mouth off so much initially, he wouldn't be looking at 5-8 years.
Nice that the TP's story informed us that the Muppet story broke because of their due diligence in response to the yacht. Funny, but I remember a quite different chronology. Good work. This all must be quite satisfying.
They actually did break the Yacht story, but they didn't break the Crime Cameras, the Hawaii trip, the Credit Card, etc.
But shhhh....don't tell them that, they're very sensitive.
After their zombie roast per the CR issues (95% of which went ignored), I prefer to sit back and watch the monkeys dance to the organ grinder's tune...eventually the novelty will wear off and folks will stop throwing peanuts and coins. After what I saw in the past couple months, I feel mostly pity for them.
They do their thing, I'll keep doing mine. You decide what is fo' true and what isn't....and feel free to ask me or yell at me at any time.
Wow. Could resist...
