As expected, I ruffled a few feathers with my comments about the Save Charity org. I still stand by my belief that the organization should not have been so focused on the building but I would also like to apologize to the folks behind the movement who are still vehemently fighting to stop Gov. Jindal from gutting what's left of our public health care services in the city and state.
I spoke to Janet Hayes from the Save Charity movement and I would like to encourage you to please sign this petition to call a special legislative session to deal with the health care crisis we are about to face.
Once again, my apologies to Janet and the people in the Save Charity movement that have worked tirelessly and dedicated their lives to fighting the good fight.
I still stand by my original sentiment about Charity itself and the people who jumped on the bandwagon because a building was being abandoned. I think in many ways it hijacked the issue from health care to real estate preservation. But as I was told in the comment section, now is not the time to debate that matter. I suppose this is true....mea culpa.
