The last gasps of democracy

I think Schroeder is the most vocal and passionate voice for independent and non-corporate media in our town...I think he'll be interested to see this:

Bill Moyers Journal on Media Consolidation Crisis [VIDEO]

If you want to see the stoic "fuck you-peon-America" expression of a corporate-owned, government chrony at it's finest....watch FCC chairman, Kevin Martin, daydream about his future cush position at Newscorp while the people he's supposed to be serving plead and bitch upon his deaf ears.

I'm waiting for Bill Moyers to be detained under H.R. 1955 and sent to Gauntanamo any day now.

This is truly an amazing visual example of how corrupt and useless our government has become...you have FCC officials standing next to Martin decrying his move to allow further mass media consolidation and he completely ignores it then races back to Washington and puts the wheels in motion to expand the power of media monopolies to further brainwash Zombie America.

It's time to dismantle this corrupt government....we start by filing articles of impeachment against Bush, Cheney, and select members of Congress based on the overwhelming evidence which is already being reported and the overwhelming evidence which is being suppressed and ignored by the MSM.

This is the face of the woman who could very well save our democracy...if our democracy demands that she be allowed to speak

If you're not familiar with who Sibel Edmonds is....please read the above link and google her immediately. Then call or write Mary Landrieu and demand that Edmonds be subpoenaed before a Congressional hearing so that she and other government operatives can have the opportunity to testify and expose the criminals who are seated in the highest levels of our government.

Update: Schroeder replies:

Shite, you beat me to the punch. I've been overwhelmed trying to put together yet another plea for action. Bottom line: the deadline for public comment on Kevin Martin's move to relax ownership rules is December 10th.

We need not just less consolidation. We need more opportunities for locals to reject the decisions made by owners. How about locals get to vote on a station whose license they want to reclaim from an irresponsible owner every two years?

More information on the legal background of the drive to further consolidate media ownership is available on the FCC Web site.

Act now to STOP BIG MEDIA.

Wow. The woman who may very well be the key to saving our republic is one smokin' hot babe.

(Think we have a prayer if even the commenters to such a serious post are this totally shallow?)

I Googled "Sibel Edmonds" (from someplace else - a message board) and it led me here. :D
