Barack is a shill...period

In a former post, I said Obama had lost my vote when he flip-flopped on the FISA bill which gives telecoms immunity for helping U.S. intelligence agencies spy on Americans.  I called him a corporate shill...he is.

On his website, Obama published a letter saying, "And going forward, some of you may decide that my FISA position is a deal breaker. That's ok. But I think it is worth pointing out that our agreement on the vast majority of issues that matter outweighs the differences we may have. After all, the choice in this election could not be clearer. Whether it is the economy, foreign policy, or the Supreme Court, my opponent has embraced the failed course of the last eight years, while I want to take this country in a new direction."

Yeah, it was definitely a deal breaker for me....then going on to state he wants to take this country in a new direction while simultaneously voting to destroy a fundamental principle of the Constitution. Excuse me, senator.....go fuck yourself....and while your at it, drop this farce campaign your running based on "change".

And why did he vote this way?

i'm outraged over obama's support for fisa too. but i'm still an obama supporter. the choice is between mccain or obama. obama is a far far better choice than mccain. there are significant differences between the two. i voted for nader in 2000. i'll never do that again unless we reform the 2 party winner takes all voting system. it's simply not true that there is no difference between dems and republicans.

still, i want obama to get hell from the base over fisa. he needs to hear it. but at the same time, there are no perfect candidates. i know john edwards was your boy, but he had more flaws than obama did. he voted for the war, the patriot act, the 2001 bankruptcy bill, no child left behind, yucca mountain, etc. and then when he ran for president in 2008 he tacked left and campaigned against all the very things he voted for.

i'm just saying, hold obama to a fair standard.

Do you think there would be a substantial difference between who Obama and McCain would nominate to the Supreme Court? Rather than stomping your feet and throwing your vote away, look at the bigger picture.

I have a real problem with that logic. I obviously am not voting for McCain....but I'm not voting for anyone who attacks the Constitution, period. The notion of Obama as a change agent is like saying "I'm not gonna drive a full Hummer anymore...I'm gonna make a change and just drive a Ford Expedition."

Change...to me....starts with undoing the criminal attacks perpetrated on the American people and the Constitution over the past 8 years. That's change....Obama is obviously not it. Pelosi and Reid burned the same bridges the moment they got elected and bowed to their AIPAC and corporate masters....now we're headed into another war we can't afford to fight.

At this point, I don't even care about the election....I want to see a revolution and a complete overhaul of government. Call me unreasonable, call me delusional...call me whatever you want....but I'm done making concessions with the democratic party in hopes they will make incremental changes. I don't believe in them anymore....they are no different than the fascists who call themselves republicans. And Obama is clearly in that number.
