This is good stuff

Pistolette is brilliant. Not only did she recognize our new mayor's "no bullshit" demeanor in this post, she nailed two tangential subjects that grate my nerves...WLAE/WYES and the stupid self loathing bumper stickers that run rampant in this city like "Vote for the crook, it's important", et al.

I've always had issues with our public television entities (a separate post for another time), but I really hate all the snarky, self-deprecating platitudes this city seems to constantly produce. It's like we're saturated with the "too cool for school" kids who sit in the corner making fun of the people trying to learn algebra and actually make a difference in the world.

I guess that snarky shit was funny....when I was 16. It's not so funny anymore.

I would rather keep the company of those who can take their whiskey straight, and Mayor Mitch is telling us we can't even spare an ice cube at the moment. I appreciate that.

BTW, please check out NOLAFemmes, a blog showcasing the persepectives of NOLA women. Or you can piss away an hour watching the Housewives of New Jersey....your call.

You and John Georges are right. There are too many dangerous people out there who have nothing to contribute other than useless observation of events. These people should all be "refudiated" straight back to the slime from which they emerged.

John Georges!

How is that asshole doing these days, I wonder?

Your coverage of that fraternity and the elaborate, tacky, racist props they needed to get each other off seem like a distant memory.

Louisiana's politicians need some intensive sessions with a good sex therapist.

It would probably be worth the money to cover this mental health help for the pack of them.
