I always get Mushmouth mixed up with Rudy

Does anyone else remember the Fat Albert cartoons where the Junkyard Band would interject with a music video, summing up the message of the day?  I thought Mushmouth played the guitar but obviously Rudy was the axe.

Thank Hulu.  We figured it out.  Here is the episode for the origin of the junkyard band.  I always noticed the continuity break in the junkyard band videos where Rudy would go from an electric guitar:

to a homemade junkyard guitar on the wide shot:

So anon thinks it's because in the episode for the origin of the junkyard band, Rudy's amp blows up towards the end of the song:

The continuity in the song is still off but the explanation makes sense.

One more pressing mystery solved on AZ.  Here's the full espisode:

Guitar Rudy, baby. Of course he had the guitar.

I always thought Russell was pretty funny.

And an appearance by Lester Benson, "Hey Hey HEY, let's really play."

They sounded good.

But why did Mushmouth always wear that damned hat? Maybe he was Donald's twin brother but for some reason he could never let anyone know that.

Do you remember the band shots on the music video were always the same? They just had the same cutaways every time regardless of the new epsisode.

Well there was one great episode where Rudy was given a brand new electric guitar cause he was so fucking cool. Then it caused tension in the band because Rudy started thinking he was better than the junkyard dudes. Anyway, he was humbled in the end and the band stayed together.

Well, if you watch the videos for the rest of the season, the cutaways to the band wide shot shows rudy with his wooden junkyard guitar...then it switches to the electric guitar in the next shot....then it switches back to wooden.

That always fucked with my head when I was a kid. It was a continuity break but it always made me appreciate how Rudy was humbled.

Ya dig?

Yeah, that's interesting about the guitar. Rudy's electric was also the only "real" instrument in the band. Everybody else's was self-invented from the junk pile.

Fat Albert's horn/accordion thing was pretty cool, it was some kind of tuba-like hurdy gurdy.

How the junk yard band began. Rudy got the electric FIRST and that drove the rest of the guys to prove they could do better using their own creativity and what was handy in the junkyard.

"Hey hey hey don't thropw that bottle away.... because there's beautiful music in this bottle."

Technically Russell started it, @ 14:00.

I think it was Mushmouth with the Bo Diddley wood box guitar...

Ok, I get it, Rudy blows out his amps and ends up on some self-made wooden banjo thing.

The main thread is pertinent. I think Benetech's assets are being dumped into Callahan.

Also, talk to me about Camp, Dresser and Mckee.
