Nagin put the revolver to our head

Fox 8 obtains city hall documents that reveal a fight between top Nagin administrators

In regard to the revolver fund, Chrisman wrote Hatfield, "currently sufficient funding exists for project construction until September." However, he goes on to say, "the dollar value of some contracts will dramatically impact the remaining dollars.. and the fund will now be depleted by mid March."

Depleted by mid-March? Holy Shite! He spent down $200 million? All of it?

And if I understand this story correctly, Boyd was paying TDC with revolver funds? There's no way we'll get compensated for that. I had no idea he had increased the contract to 4.5 million.

Youre' too modest. You yourself said this contract would explode months ago:

AZ
You have been on this for months and now it seems like your predictions are coming true.
I have a prediction: Federal Indictment for Boyd and Nagin.
If I were a city contractor and was talking with those guys about "extending" the contract now, I would run...or wear a wire for the Feds......and don't you think that is exactly what some of these contractors are already doing.
Give it time.
Yours truly,

I'm so angry and hurt I think my heart is going to explode.

I don't know if I have time to "give it time".

Waiting for the other shoe to drop is killing me.

Bowling Pin II?

I put odds at about 2:1 that the administration will try to have this guy take the fall for whoever in the administration is REALLY at fault (and it probably reaches to the top).

The same name also came up in this scandal (unless the IG scared Nagin out of it):

This building cluster-f might have legs. And the hundreds of millions of federal and state dollars at stake are way more than Muppet ever handed out to his friends.

And MWH is involved with this revolver business too?

Did they have to make church donations for that contract?

One of the things I value about that story is that Chrisman left his post at City Hall.

He spoke about the bad shit he saw, people DID hear his concerns (plausible deniability goes out the window for everyone who drinks from that water cooler)and it became to uncomfortable for him to work there.

His best, most professional impulses were meeting too much resistance from his co-workers.

Every person at City Hall who has not chosen to speak up is damned to Hell by the example of someone who tried to, and then who left his job at City Hall.

It is a tough economy for everyone. Everyone has student loans/credit card debt/rent or a mortgage to pay/bills to pay/a family to support, and so on. Everyone there has some time in towards receiving a pension.

Everyone is in the same boat. If you chose to be unethical or to turn a blind eye, fuck you.

It is not like the good people have less on the line than you do.

OK, having checked out the other stuff about Chisman, I'm not giving him any medals. My first post might have been too impressed with the guy. But still, he left. Others have stayed.

The basic point that EVERYONE who is working in the Nagin administration after all this crap is morally suspect, and at best a guilty bystander holds as far as I'm concerned.

If you were a good person, you'd have quit long ago, Nagin employee.
