My eternal gratitude...

To the AZ readers who donated to Joshua's funeral.  Not only were we able to raise the $1000 I was shooting for, we raised $1800 within 48 hours and thanks to an amazing person that wishes to remain anonymous (and you know anonymity is a sacred virtue on AZ) we covered the entire cost of Joshua's funeral.  It's truly amazing.  If this blog has done nothing else in its existence, it's been worth it just to have helped Jonathan with his brother's funeral in this way.  I truly can't thank you all enough.

We said goodbye to Josh a week ago today.  Jonathan (Josh's twin brother) and Broderick Webb from the Fyre Youth Squad both gave an amazing eulogy for Josh.  Jonathan talked about how no matter what you asked from Josh he would always be there for you.  He reflected about one time after Katrina when Josh was staying out in the East and Jonathan was still living in Mid-city.  Jonathan mentioned to Josh on a phone call that he needed to pay a bill to the DMV the next day in order to keep his registration legal.  He said Josh got on his bicycle at 3 am and rode all the way from the East to get Jonathan the money for the bill the next day.  That's the kind of guy he was....he was a special person and so is Jonathan.

Once again, thank you all so very much.

Ashe, I got a beautifully worded hand written thank you card and copy of the program from Joshua's brother. He expressed heartfelt appreciation for the monetary contribution towards the funeral expenses.

It is not often that people take the time to say thank you in such a nice way. He did and it certainly warmed my heart that I was able to help and to know he appreciated the gesture.
