Crime-camera case has a tangled cast of characters
Interesting that Ellis, himself, was actually working for Benetech at one point. Regardless, Mr. Smith doesn't see a clear conflict of interest with the issues listed in the article.
There are still some unanswered questions though. In particular, is Mrs. Naef signing documents or working for the city in some capacity? If so...does this constitute a conflict of interest?
I hope we can resolve these questions soon and put the matter to bed.

Amen, Zombie.
On the other hand, the comments posted about the Jaeger Foundation and the proximity of properties to the Muses development raise real questions. Some of the older posts asking who is authorizing demolitions and who is buying up land seem less crazy now.
I wish you could poke into it without having bees fly up your nose.
Amen back to that. I'm allergic to bee stings, too.

Daya Naef was the signatory for the City of New Orleans on every one of these recorded documents. In many cases Bob Ellis was either the witness for the City or the Notary.
New Orleans has donated most of these properties to the Jaeger Foundation for unknown reasons.
The only thing I ask of AZ for doing this research is that one of the tech folks put a map online for each property address so that the media & public can see the massive & potentially illegal land grab taking place. A land grab that Mr. Ellis and Ms. Naef-Ellis as attorneys have a clear conflict of interest in.
I am also interested in this question: "Did the Jaeger Foundation or any of its affiliate companies or subsidiaries buy an interest or buy outright Crescent City Management LLC".
This is a very big story here and I really hope the local media & federal law enforcement officials jump into this mess quickly, that is if they haven't already. Its clear the Times Picayne has a lot more information on this from their last two articles.
If I was an owner of any of these properties I would contact an attorney immediately.

many of these algiers addresses are in the shadow of Blaine Kern's mega-development - what ever happened with that?
OK, Anon, what gives?
Are all these properties Naef related, or only the ones you've starred?
If only the starred ones are connected to Naef, then why give these big long lists?
You obviously want us to figure out what you know or what you think you know. Please provide a narrative to go with your lists.
I'd still like us to get back to those HSOA/Picke Construction contracts at the airport, etc. (The information about those contracts posted on this blog came from Picke's own publicly accessible website.)
And some of us are still waiting for Dambala's post about contracts relating to the schools, which may have nothing at all to do with HSOA/goons/libel suits/bees.
You're gonna have to wait on HSOA and schools. Sorry.
There's only one of me and I'm dealing with some major shit right now.
Plus there is a high drama issue going down with the tech department. It's been unfolding all day and everytime I think I'm ready to post something changes.
Please hang tight.
DAYA NAEF WAS A SIGNATORY ON ALL OF THESE PROPERTIES. Consequently these are all of the properties that came up for Daya Naef under the vendor cateory in the Notorial Archives with the exception of their personal stuff.
Daya Naef's signature is on every one of these properties while acting on behalf of the City of New Orleans. The Times Picayne article by David Hammer quotes Robert Ellis Jr. as saying he didn't have any dealings with his wife while working at the city. Many of these documents show that Mr. Ellis failed to recall the dozens of documents he signed as a witness or notary on Daya Naef affidavits involving the city.
Lastly, Crescent City Management is owned by Daya Naef and its business location is the personal residence of Ellis.
Look at the contract that Crescent City Management recieved from the City of New Orleans.
Thanks for posting and explaining, Anon with the lists.
Hang tight yourself, Dambala. You are my hero.
Ashe,
I have mapped all of these streets but GMAIL seems to be giving me fits. How do you want me to get you the image of these mappings? I'm sure everyone will find the placement VERY interesting.
Sparky
I can't find anything online confirming a contract between Crescent City Management and the City, but the company is registered as a vendor.

I lived on Elmira St and was running relief supplies all over that area after the flood. Many of those addresses are Algiers Point addresses, albeit the "other" part of Algiers Point and just beyond Opelousas Street, which is a de facto economic and racial line in many ways.
This is really really curious. And yes, they are, many of them very near Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World.
Some of the residents in the Algiers Point area view "The Point" boundaries as Atlantic to the river, and the levee to Opelousas. Lots of the addresses on these lists fall just barely within or a block or two out of that definition.
Something Eric Torres said to me four years ago (I think it was four years ago) is starting to ding someplace in da backa my brain pan.
Can't remember it for the life of me right now, but I'll get up at 3 am and post when it hits me. I think you are all onto something with the Mardi Gras World connection.
I wish I wasn't semi-retarded; now would be the time for my stoopid memory to work.
Thanks, Sparky.
That list is bugging the hell outta me (and I am allergic to bee stings fo' true). There were people LIVING in those houses, maybe not all of them, but I'd bet most of them. How did the city get hold of them? Who the hell is Jaeger Foundation? How were they "donated." I'm having issues with these donated houses anyway. Donated by the city? To be used how? To make more housing available in a city already short of it? I doubt it.
Dammit. This is gonna bug me all night. I might map it and go take photos. I keep looking at those addresses and seeing someone take a map and a red sharpie and say, "These."
Only two of the properties have had demo permits against them:
416 Newton
615 Newton
You can check permits here:
http://aca.accela.com/nola/Cap/CapHome.aspx?module=Permits&TabName=Permits
On this search engine, there are a few important things:
1) Change the year of the "start date" to 2003. That will ensure you get as many permits as possible.
2) Do not put in any more information than absolutely necessary. That is, don't put in a street type, city, or anything other than the number and street name.
Naef is not listed as a city attorney on the city's website.
If she is one, why hide that? Why not come out and say it on that site or on this one?
Well, as far as we know she isn't working for the city in any capacity. I am confused about the documents listed here though. I am hoping Mr. Ellis will clear that up for us shortly.
